DWI ON A MOPED: Officers on DWI patrol at about 4:10 p.m. Thursday observed a moped with a fake/improper plate on Pine Avenue and executed a traffic stop. The driver was a 43-year-old Willow Avenue man. Police asked the driver about the plate. “What?” came the response. “I bought it off Amazon.” He had no insurance, registration or inspection. The driver smelled of alcohol. A 100 ml bottle of Jose Cuervo was on the moped. The suspect was incapable of completing field sobriety tests and became argumentative and aggressive toward police. The driver was charged with no license, no insurance, no inspection, aggravated unlicensed operation, DWI and operating with alcohol/cannabis on a motor vehicle.
