'Rob's Little Bakery' now open

Had some business downtown Friday and rode my bike to the city marker for pears from Senek farms as well as some broccoli.

Then I headed over Elmwood and 19th Avenues. Rob’s Little Bakery is now open.

Rob Koch took over the business from former owner Jay who is now concentrating on Buffalo Avenue.

Koch, who worked as a motorcycle mechanic and said he has been friends with Jay for years, has bread and pizza available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

His brother Greg was there helping Friday. So far advertising has been word of mouth.

In time, they may diversify the menu. For now it is bread and pizza.

A half tray of old-fashioned is $13. I grabbed two slices for $2.50 and brought them home for lunch.

“Just like Trusellos,” Koch said. “That’s where I got the original recipe from Roy and the guys.”

If it is really like the old Trusello's, this is great news for all NF pizza lovers.  That delicious oregano and olive oil smell that hits you the minute that you walk through the door.
