About the weather
There was a chance of a low of 33 Friday according to the National Weather Service. It is Nov. 8. We are in USDA Zone 6A. The average first frost date is Oct. 17 through 31. There is a low of 30 predicted for Tuesday but if that does not happen we appear to be clear through the weekend.
Twelve days past the last predictable time for a killing frost is meaningful.
Two weeks seems like nothing but our impatiens should have been done a month ago rather than keeping the mums company.
Along the gorge, toadflax, also known as butter and eggs or wild snapdragon is still blooming.
Butterfly weed is still going strong as well. It is a member of the milkweed family with orange blossoms.
Heavy rain, with a high of 64 and low of 39 degrees. Don't forget your umbrella! Moderate rain at times in the morning, patchy rain nearby for the afternoon, overcast for the evening,

I assume the family is still there, and will be displaced by the sale, unless they have the funds to purchase the house. I wish the best for them but also, thank you for highlighting that there is affordable housing during this time when rents are an absolute crisis.
I wish them well too but even if you disagree, when you set up a GoFundMe, pay the darn fine.
Chris wasn't all bad......he took some awesome pictures of his various desserts! The hiking excursions were superb! The coffee with Chris will thankfully continue with Chris McKimmie. I must say I will miss the carpet bagger too!
I agree with Tim H. A carpetbagger can't eat if he can't sell hot air. Chris was a great SHOWMAN with very few successful circus acts to show for his efforts. He did get you to think. And he did bring the truth to those who were interested in those Saturday morning coffees.
