TRAFFIC STOP: Officers on patrol on Elmwood Avenue at about 4:07 p.m. Friday were alerted by a plate reader to a suspended registration and no insurance on a vehicle being driven by Jason Schreiner, 36, of 2425 North Avenue.
TRAFFIC STOP: Officers on patrol on the 2500 block of 10th Street at 5:55 p.m. Friday observed a vehicle with a headlamp out and moved to execute a traffic stop when their plate reader lit up. Betseba Donado-Carmago, 33 of Jordan Gardens was charged with no license, aggravated unlicensed operation, faulty headlamp, no inspection, false inspection, operating with a suspended registration and obstructed view.
UNKNOWN PROBLEM: Police were called to Rick Manning Drive at about 4:45 p.m. Friday for an unknown problem. Vedric Booker, 28, of 417 16th Street declined assistance from police, saying he only wanted to be seen by an ambulance. He became irate and called back 10 minutes later, allegedly telling dispatchers there had been a shooting. He was arrested on charges of falsely reporting an incident. Booker allegedly called 911 multiple times. He was taken into custody for falsely reporting an incident and transported to Niagara Falls Memorial for a medical evaluation.
ATV TROUBLE: A minibike and go-cart were holding up traffic on Ferry Avenue at about 10:20 p.m. Saturday. Officers executed a traffic stop and encountered David Cruz-Rosado, 41 of 3319 Walnut Ave. who told them he didn’t know operating an offroad vehicle on a public highway was illegal. Mariandalis Cruz-Ortiz, 21, of Lockport was also present. Cruz-Rosado was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. Both were charged with operating an atv on a public highway, moving from a lane unsafely, no insurance and impeding traffic.
