Council meets at 6
One of the most consequential meetings of the year is tonight for the Niagara Falls Council. An agenda was available as per recent practice, emailed by interim City Counsel Thomas DeBoy, but as of Tuesday night the Express had received no supporting documentation.
We emailed DeBoy. He provided a link to the supporting documentation but it was not easy to find on the city website.
Agenda items tonight include:
Selling a bunch more vacant property to the highest bidder.
Designating $1.5 million in Casino revenue to be spent as outlined in a memo from Mayor Restaino not yet shared with the public.
Spend $281,500 with Clark, Patterson and Lee for engineering a new dog shelter as well as $4.219 million of American Rescue Plan funds for construction costs related to the dog shelter as outlined in a memo not yet shared with the public.
Spend $6.638 million in American Rescue Plan funds on engineering for the switch of streetlights from incandescent to LED.
Approve an agreement to increase police salaries to aid in recruitment, the 3rd time this has been on an agenda. The previous two times it included adding parking enforcement staff but again, no background information is available.
