Market fun day draws crowd

Visited the City Market Falls Market family fun Friday. There were couple more vendors than recent weeks. It is trending in the right direction.

The DoubleUp SNAP program is back. Summer is here. There are now cherries, plums and apricots.

The event was in partnership with The Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club and The Packard Court Community Center. This completely free event is open to the public and expected to draw crowds of local partners and community groups emphasizing local food access and child-friendly activities.

The Niagara Falls City Market, which is run and administered by the local nonprofit Field & Fork Network, is committed to ensuring all residents can enjoy the market and are pleased to accept SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits and participate in Double Up Food Bucks NY and the Farmers Market Nutrition Program. These initiatives help to ensure that fresh, local produce is within reach for everyone in the community. Through the Double Up Food Bucks NY program, SNAP customers can receive matching funds, up to $20 per day, to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables. Double Up Food Bucks is available June 15th-October 31st.

Field & Fork Network, a leading nonprofit focused on strengthening New York’s food system, is thrilled to announce the launch of The Niagara Falls City Market’s new season, along with a brand-new logo that represents the vibrant and evolving spirit of our community market. The redesigned logo is a product of collaboration and community feedback, capturing the essence of Niagara Falls and the aspirations for the Market’s future.
