POWER WASHER TAKEN: A resident of the 400 block of 13th Street reported someone stole a power washer valued at $90 from her vehicle. Tuesday/Wednesday overnight.

PORCH PIRATE: A resident of the 2200 block of Linwood Ave. reported someone took an Amazon package valued at $38 from his front porch early Wednesday morning. The homeowner said he checked his camera and said a Black man wearing a gold cap, black camo jacket, gold pants and green shoes riding a blue bike had taken the package. Officers found a man matching the description mowing a yard nearby with the bike parked in the yard. Police cuffed Willie Wright, 54, of 1728 Pierce Ave. and advised him he was being detained. Asked why, Wright said “probably the package I stole this morning.” Wright was charged with petit larceny.

DRUGS: Police received a hangup call from a Portage Road location and responded at about 12:30 p.m. and found Johnathan Haley, of 1548 North Ave. and Alyssa Parker, 30, of Walmore Road, Sanborn both apparently intoxicated from narcotics. Police attempted to speak to Parker but Haley interrupted and said they were fine. Parker was detained on a Niagara County Sheriff Warrant. Haley refused to give his name, telling police he was John Doe. Police learned his identity after forcibly cuffing him. Haley was charged with resisting arrest, obstructing and appearing intoxicated by drugs in a public place.

ILLEGAL VEHICLE: Officers traveling on Linwood Ave. at about 2:15 a.m. Thursday saw a vehicle with an improper plate and pulled it over. Mikala Paonessa, 24, of 1125 Linwood Ave. was pulled over after a short pursuit and charged with no inspection, no insurance, no license, improper plate, failing to stop at a stop sign, failure to signal and failure to yield to an emergency vehicle.

STOLEN PLATES: An officer on patrol on Forest Avenue heard a car alarm sounding and investigated at about 4:10 a.m. Thursday. The vehicle in question belonged to Kashunta Gilmer, 29, of 2007 Forest Ave. and had stolen plates. Gilmer was charged with criminal possession of stolen property.
