Short Take Sports:

Judging Sabres prospects

Justin Kea and Aaaron Lepkowski used to be Sabres prospects drafted in 2011. Lepkowski never made it. Now he’s an AHL linesman. Joel Armia was No. 1, 149 games into his NHL career. Lepkowski was a 5th Rounder in 2011. Meanwhile, in 2012 Judd Peterson, 7th Rounder is still in the ECHL; Brady Austin got 5 games in the NHL, now he plays in Europe; Linus Ullmark in Round 6 was a success; Logan Nelson from Round 5 is 437 games into his career with 5 in the AHL; Justin Kea was drafted in Round 3 and is now an NHL linesman. The point is, whether we look at Lukas Rousek, Tyson Kozak or Jiri Kulich, it is easy to miss. Brandon Hagel almost never happens.

Sabres won last night

6 points behind Detroit with 10 Sabres games to go. Detroit has 12 to play. There is no chance. https://www.nhl.com/gamecenter/buf-vs-cgy/2024/03/24/2023021132/recap
