Golf Week magazine published a long form article about residents of the Niagara Gospel Mission learning to golf.
It is an emotional story about redemption, hope, imperfection and the ability of each of us to overcome our imperfections.
Usually I would cut and paste a story like this one into the Express but Nick Piastowski’s work is so well conceived, and composed that it would be an insult. It is 3,600 words long and worth the read.
He lived at the mission for 6 days while researching it.
It all started because of a PGA Program called Hope which led teaching Frank Garcia Garcia to invite Mission Executive Director John Cooper to golf. The rest is history.
I couldn’t do it justice but here is the link. https://golf.com/news/visit-improbable-country-club-homeless-shelter/?
