Gospel Mission raises more than $270,000
NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. — Niagara Gospel Mission raised more than $270,000 at its annual Vision Dinner, bringing together supporters, businesses, churches and community partners around a shared vision of providing Help, Hope and Healing to men and women experiencing homelessness and brokenness in Western New York.
This year’s theme, “A Different Solution,” highlighted Niagara Gospel Mission’s belief that addressing homelessness requires more than meeting immediate needs. While providing food, shelter and safety remains an important part of the Mission’s work, NGM seeks to address the deeper issues that can keep individuals trapped in cycles of homelessness, addiction and instability.
Throughout the evening, guests heard testimonies from men whose lives have been changed through their time at Niagara Gospel Mission. The stories highlighted not only the programs and services provided by NGM, but also the Mission’s Gospel-centered approach to restoration, personal responsibility and lasting life change.
Supporters and community partners also shared why they have chosen to stand alongside Niagara Gospel Mission and what they have witnessed through their involvement with the organization.
“The greatest success of the evening wasn’t the amount of money raised—it was hearing the stories of lives being changed,” said Rev. John A. Cooper Jr., Executive Director of Niagara Gospel Mission. “We are incredibly grateful that our community gave more than $270,000, but ultimately this is about people. We believe God changes lives, and we want to build an organization that provides men and women with the opportunities, accountability and support they need to move forward.”
The evening also provided an update on Niagara Gospel Mission’s plans for its coming Women’s Center, which will expand the organization’s ability to serve women experiencing homelessness in Niagara Falls and Niagara County.
NGM also presented plans to strengthen several areas of its existing ministry, including biblical counseling, security and transportation. These investments are designed to increase the Mission’s ability to address the underlying challenges facing its residents while providing a safe and structured environment for recovery and growth.
Cooper said the Vision Dinner also demonstrated the importance of collaboration between nonprofit organizations, churches, businesses and individuals as Niagara Falls continues working toward long-term community revitalization.
“Homelessness is not an isolated issue—it affects the health and future of our entire community,” Cooper said. “If we want to see Niagara Falls become stronger, we have to be willing to pursue solutions that help people become stronger. Local businesses, churches, donors, volunteers and community organizations all have a role to play in that work.”
Niagara Gospel Mission thanked the hundreds of individuals and organizations who attended, donated, volunteered, prayed and partnered with the organization to make the Vision Dinner possible.
More than $270,000 was raised during the event to help Niagara Gospel Mission continue and expand its work in the Niagara Falls community.
“Our solution is to heal the heart and to show the world that when Christ changes people's lives, our entire area and outlook on our city will be hopeful." - Rev. John Cooper.
