BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- Seneca Resorts & Casinos is ushering in a new era of guest experiences with a $47 million renovation project.

The multimillion-dollar project will upgrade 594 rooms and suites at Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino, leaders announced on Monday.

Renovations will begin in October and continue in three phases. Final completion is targeted for December 2027 -- but this project is only the beginning.

Allie George, chairman of the Seneca Gaming Corporation Board of Directors, said an "exciting new chapter" is coming to all three of the resort's properties -- including Seneca Allegany Resort & Casino and Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino.

"Each project is designed to maximize what makes Seneca Resorts & Casinos a unique, world-class destination," George said.

He said Seneca Resorts & Casinos is exploring plans for a series of projects across the three properties and to "stay tuned" for more to come.

Leaders said they worked directly with the Seneca Nation to pay respect to their culture.

"You'll see on the bed throw, for instance, as one example, the Seneca Nation of Indians seal is right on the actual bed throw, and throughout the space you'll see other cultural elements," Joseph Fanara, vice president of design and construction for Seneca Gaming Corporation, said.

Standing at 26 stories, leaders say the Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino is the largest hotel in Western New York, welcoming millions of guests each year. The hotel first opened in 2006.
