The best I could do to get a photo of Jim James.
We are in Rochester this weekend for Hoochenanny, a music festival in Perinton sponsored by Iron and Smoke Distilling.
We considered Borderland this year but Hoochenanny offered My Morning Jacket and Modest Mouse as headliners and a cheaper ticket.
An added bonus Saturday was Guster. I would compare them to Vampire Weekend from last year’s Borderland but better.
As for MMJ, they rock. Hard. This was our third time seeing them. I hope they come back to Artpark. This year’s lineup in Lewiston did not include a single act we felt like seeing.
As for Jim James and his band, they are the innovators. There are imitators but sheesh is life one big wordless chorus.
