Late Tuesday afternoon I made a run over to the Aquarium to stow some bikes for Buffalo Bike Tours. I was expecting six bikes but yet there were 4. I was bummed, and losing.
I went for a bike ride around downtown and found Rabbi Lorber with Hebrew music playing and a prayer pedestal set up outside the Chabad Niagara Falls Mitzvah Tank.
The pedestal contains elements faithful Jews can use for prayers, as informed by the Torah and facilitated by the Rabbi.
Chabad Niagara will be back for Sukkot in September. As Hanukkah approached last December, Rabbi called me so I could spread his message. It was early in the Bills/Patriots game.
“I will call back after the game,” I said.
The Bills fell behind the Pats 21-0. Halftime came. I was dejected. I called Rabbi back. The Bills came back and won. It was a Mitzvah from him.
After Rabbi and I chatted Tuesday, I pedaled back, knowing I had two more bikes to come back and get later. I will never complain about a gratuitous chance for a ride along the bikepath, even if I have to do it an extra time because two bikes weren’t back.
Not today. After Rabbi and I spoke, I pedaled past the storage trailer to see two people approaching on bikes that needed to be put way. He blessed me again.
