CUSTOMER FIGHT: A women and a pet store employee got in an angry confrontation after the customer demanded her dogs be groomed at about 11:10 a.m. Wednesday. No charges were filed and no dogs were groomed but the dog mother demanded an ambulance ride to the hospital thanks to an alleged back injury.

BURGLARY: A resident of the 400 block of Memorial Parkway reported he went for a walk and when he returned at about 3 p.m. Wednesday he saw a man leaving his home with his weed wacker and lawn mower, which had been in the kitchen.

TOWED VEHICLE: Police ordered the tow of a vehicle abandoned on Porter Road by the golf course at about 5 p.m. Wednesday.

STORE ROBBED: A Hyde Park convenience store was robbed at gunpoint at about 6 p.m. Wednesday. Cigarettes and cash were taken. Police broadcast a description of the thief to no avail. (Photo above from RobShots)

ILLEGAL VEHICLE: Police on patrol in the 400 block of Walnut Ave. at about 10:50 p.m. Wednesday observed a white Silverado known to have switched plates. The executed a stop and charged Matthew Conti, 36, of 432 32nd St. with unregistered, improper plates, no insurance, no license, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle and aggravated unlicensed operation.

ABANDONED VEHICLE: Police had an apparently abandoned Crown Victoria with an expired registration towed from the 600 block of Walnut Avenue towed about 1:30 a.m. Thursday.

ILLEGAL VEHICLE: Police observed an Impreza being operated on 27th near Walnut Avenue at about midnight Thursday. The North Carolina registration came back as suspended Alicia Ann Cox, 48, of 1870 South Ave. was charged with unregistered, no insurance and aggravated unlicensed operation. She told officers she uses the vehicle to take her mother wherever she needs to go.
